We strongly urge the wives of the pastors in our Forge Pastor Training to attend with their husbands. There we deal with issues of inner healing, breaking generational curses, walking in forgiveness, communication in the home, respect, tenderness and love. For many it's the first time they ever dealt with the trauma of violence in the home and the dysfunction that's so prevelant for many. As they heal, they are finding new freedom, healing, and joy. Their marriages are becoming strong and they're becoming better parents and pastors.
In addition, we regularly conduct marriage conferences which have become very popular. We love sharing the word with married couples and seeing them open up to each other, and talk about intimacy and husband/wife roles in the home. This is very unusual in this society where so many don't share their dreams or sorrows with each other.
In fact, many couples actually live apart. Because of work or other reasons, it's common for the husband to stay weeks or even months in another city without a visit home. Of course, the family suffers. God is working and more and more couples are understanding what the Word means about the "one flesh relationship." As a result, they're healing and making real changes in their homes and marriages.
Child rearing and parent responsibility is another focus of our ministry. One of our goals is to convince parents not to send their children to boarding school where they suffer loneliness, anxiety, and bullying. While there are many good boarding schools, we feel that children fare better when they stay with their parents and get their education locally where the parents can be more involved in their own children's lives and studies.
