We are working with various families to help them raise chickens, and build herds of cows, goats, lambs, and pigs. Rather than gifting them the animals, we draw up a contract with them obligating them to pay back what was "loaned." After a specified period of time they pay back the initial starter animals with animals of like breed, size, and age. They take full responsability for the health and care of the animals. This way they own the project, and understand that it is a loan, not a hand out and that there are other families waiting for a similar opportunity with the animals they give us when they pay back the loan.
In addition, we have a seed bank where farmers can borrow money to buy seed to plant a specific plot of land that is then closely monitored. At harvest time, they pay the money back. This way farmers can plant the more expensive, and higher yielding, seed that they wouldn't otherwise be able to afford.
We are also sponsoring several students to receive university education, providing computers and other needed school material.
You are invited to join us in these highly rewarding ventures through your gifts designated to "Turn Around Projects."
