Project #1 Animal Husbandry
We are working with families to help them raise chickens, and to build herds of cows, goats, lambs, and pigs. Rather than giving them the animals outright, we draw up a contract with them encouraging them to pay back what was "loaned." After a specified period of time they return animals of like breed, size, and age as the original starter animals.
They take full responsibility for the health and care of the animals. This way they own the project, and understand that it is a loan, not a hand out. This way they can also see how their animals are used to later benefit other families.
As we work with these families, we are evangelizing them. Our long term goal is that each of them would understand that "a generous soul prospers" and become part of "lending" animals and helping other familes as a ministry. This way they become givers and an active part in becoming a blessing to the nations.
Project #2 Seed Bank
We also have a seed bank where farmers can borrow money to buy seed to plant a specific plot of land that is then closely monitored by our seed bank committee. At harvest time, they pay the money back. This way farmers can buy the more expensive see that is higher yielding. In turn, they realize greater profits for the same plot of ground.
Project #3 School Sponsorship
We are sponsoring both primary and university level students by paying their tuition fees and some of their basic expenses for school materials. We've obtained laptops and smart phones which are required for most courses of study. One of our students is now in her first year of medical school.
You are invited to join us in these highly rewarding ventures through your gifts designated to "Turn Around Projects."
